It's been nearly a year since the release of Book 04: Incursion, and while I have been quiet in the time since I have nonetheless been hard at work with the next piece of the Iyetra series. I'm happy to announce that Book 05: Aftermath's Dawn will be coming very soon on Amazon, iTunes and other retail sites. I've played around with the price points of the first four books, but going forward each new release will be priced at $0.99. I think this gives the greatest accessibility to people interested in reading the series. I've also decided to leave Book 01: Sleeping God online as a free download permanently (it's also available for free on Amazon and the iTunes Bookstore, etc). If you have not picked it up yet, it includes some additional changes from its involvement in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award (see below).
Aggregated volumes (as mentioned in this post) will be priced higher, but this is still to be determined. Iyetra – Volume One: Prophecy Told will be a compilation of Books 01 – 04, though its development is still in progress. I had hoped to get that out sometime last year, but I have been looking for ways to leverage the new interactivity tools added to devices like the iPad and Kindle Fire in order to make this digital "book" something larger than simply text on a screen. This is still a work in progress, however, and more information will be provided down the road.
On a personal note, I'm thrilled to say that the aggregated version was entered into Amazon's 2012 Breakthrough Novel Award and was selected as a quarterfinalist; out of ten thousand submissions, only five hundred reached that point so it's a huge source of pride for me. As part of the submission, Sleeping God was reworked slightly at the beginning — I have felt that the pacing of the first part of the book was slightly out of step with the rest of the series and I tweaked it a little bit to put it in line with the other books. It's available as a free download on this website still, though if you've already read it there isn't any additional content. If you haven't picked it up, this is a great time to do so!
Going forward I'm going to try and be less specific about stating dates when new releases are coming unless I am absolutely sure of them; I have a tendency to let deadlines slip and that combined with the radio silence over the past year has had some readers contacting me with concerns that the series was abandoned. I can categorically promise that it isn't, and at over 32,000 words Aftermath's Dawn is the second-longest addition to the Iyetra series. I truly hope you enjoy it and if you do please remember to leave reviews online wherever you made the purchase. Stay tuned to Facebook and Twitter for specific announcements of its release, or check back here in a week or two!
